PRODUCTS & MATERIALS
What fabric is used in the Re:Kimono line?
Re:Kimono garments are made from unused kimono silk or yukata cotton bolts sourced from Japanese textile houses as well as individual collectors. All bolts are inspected, cleaned, and assessed before cutting. No two pieces use the exact same bolt placement, so pattern position varies between garments.
Are the fabrics truly unused?
Yes. All Re:Kimono fabrics are from unused bolt stock — not worn garments. They have not been previously sewn into a garment. The cleaning and preparation process is carried out before any cutting begins.
Will my item look exactly like the photo?
The fabric bolt and colourway will match. However, because each garment is cut from a specific position within the bolt, the exact placement of the pattern may differ. This is the nature of working with a printed textile. Some garments will show more of a particular motif; others will show different areas of the same design. This variability is intentional and not considered a defect.
What is the pocket on the Pocket T-Shirt made from?
The pocket is cut from a kimono-derived textile bolt — typically a dense, patterned weave or print. The specific pattern on your pocket will vary depending on how it was positioned during cutting. The circular inset photos on the product page show examples of the pocket pattern, but the exact cut may differ.
How do I care for Re:Kimono garments?
Yukata cotton pieces can generally be machine washed cold, gentle cycle. Kimono silk pieces should be hand washed or dry cleaned. Always check the garment label. Avoid direct sunlight for extended storage as this can affect natural dyes over time.
SIZING
Where can I find the size charts?
Size charts are on the Re:Kimono product page for each garment type. All measurements are in centimetres. The aloha shirt, style shirt, pocket tee, and hooded jacket each have their own chart. Some provisional sizes are marked — these measurements may have minor variations before the final run is confirmed.
Do the garments run large or small?
Re:Kimono shirts and the Yukata Jacket are designed with a relaxed, slightly oversized fit consistent with Japanese silhouette preferences. The Pocket T-Shirt fits true to size as a unisex heavyweight tee — the female model in the product photos (159cm) wears a Small; the male model (177cm) wears a Large. We recommend checking the specific measurements against a garment you already own.
